Coaching is a developmental process, requiring purpose, and clear direction. As a coach you have to know what you want to do and how you are going to do it. To reach a point where you can reasonably say that you have accomplished all you have set out to do will require some very specific actions on your part.
      The first thing you will have to do is take a long look at
yourself.
        What can you give to a football team to make them
successful?     
          What can you provide that will give your team a positive                         
Experience?
         What do you know about the game?
          Are you really cut out to be  a coach?
      To answer these questions , examine your character. You have to have patience, a level temper, and understanding. You have to have the ability to think clearly under pressure, and deal with criticism.
You have to be honest with yourself, and admit when you're wrong. You have to make your own needs, and desires deferential to the   well being of the team. Most important, you have be fair at all times.  Never play favorites. Always use each player to his best ability and treat them with respect.
      If any of the above things are not a part of your character, make them so, or forget about coaching. Without all these capabilities you may have some success, but you will never be the kind of coach your team deserves.
